presented by unassigned gallery, When Things Are Real Again is Corinne’s debut solo exhibition. Painted during the course of 2021, these paintings are the artist’s attempt to make something real out of the isolation spurred and intensified by the pandemic. When lockdowns were imposed, real, sensual, experiences were replaced with a virtual reality that couldn’t meaningfully provide connection, freedom, or joy.

In the absence of dancing in a nightclub, walking through nature, or crowding around a dinner table with friends, Corinne went to the studio, searching for a way to create spaces in which she could act out her pent up feelings of desire for these experiences. These paintings are the result of grieving and longing for the feelings that these real experiences elicit.
